What Vehicles, Trailers, Equipment and Personnal Protective Equipment we have.

Vehicles

Truck: truck.jpg

The truck's call sign is Wanneroo 01.

The truck can take 6 people and has all the gear we would need for a small callout, eg storm damage, car v house, etc.

You need a MR licence to drive the truck.

Troopy: troopy.jpg

We have two troopy's whose call signs are Wanneroo 02 and 03.

They are large 4WD capable of carrying 11 people.
They are fitted with an 8 tonne winch on the front.
They are capable of towing trailers up to 3 ½ tonne.
They have a reserve fuel tank.
They have snorkels for water crosses.
They have red and blue flashing lights for visibility.

Quad Bike: quad2.jpg

We have two quad bikes for off road callouts like searches or for where we need small maneuverable transport.

Trailers

sdtrailer.jpgRescue:

The Rescue trailer contains items that we would typically need for a callout. For example: tool kit, generator, acrow props, ropes, belay kits, witches hats, lights, sandbags, and a pump.

Lighting: lightingtrailer.jpg

The lighting trailer has 3x1500 watt flood lights attached to a 6kva generator.

This is used to light up large areas, eg staging areas, triage, damaged house.

Other Equipment

gennie.jpgGenerator:

We have several generators ranging from 750 va to 3 kva. We use them to power portable lights, power tools and welfare appliances.

acrowprops.jpgAcrow Props:

We have several acrow prop of varying sizes. We use them when shoring eg holding up brick walls at car vs house incidents and holding up ceiling from collapsed buildings when access is required.

Larkin Frame:

The Larkin Frame is used in cliff rescue to keep ropes away from the sharp edges of the cliff and to prevent dislodging loose rocks onto the rescuers and rescuees.

chainsaw.jpgChainsaw:

We have several chainsaws used to cut fallen trees into manageable pieces so that they are more easily removed. The operator needs to be chainsaw qualified.

stretchers.jpgStretchers:

We use these to carry casualties who are unconscious or can not walk.
