Joined:
I joined the SES originally in the N.T. in June ’96. Because there was no transfer procedure between states I had to resign there and I rejoined in Wanneroo in January 2002.

Rank/Position: These days just a unit member.

Occupation: Retired

Short Description:
Just an ordinary bloke.

What was your motivation to join the SES?
My daughter and now son-in-law were involved in the N.T. and kind of talked me into it as a means of keeping busy. I was involved in other volunteer work at the time.

What is the best thing about the SES?
Mateship and assisting people in trouble.

What is the worse thing about the SES?
Doing storm damage in storm conditions at 3.00 am after being out most of the night.

What is your most memorable moment?
Had a few, but probably a 3hour helicopter ride in the N.T. looking for a bloke who had been missing for 3 weeks and not having a hope of finding him. It was one of those sunny days interspersed with showers so it was very pleasant flying around.

What is your most embarrassing moment?
Had a couple of them too but probably the night I backed the land cruiser into the door at Winton road depot. I received the coveted dipstick award for that.
